Od 2017 roku Animator jest festiwalem kwalifikującym do Nagrody Amerykańskiej Akademii Filmowej Oscar®. Film, który otrzyma Złotego Pegaza – Grand Prix w Międzynarodowym Konkursie Filmów Krótkometrażowych ma skróconą drogę do Oscarowej® nominacji w kategorii Najlepszy Krótkometrażowy Film Animowany.
Bohaterom pokazu przydałoby się szósty zmysł, aby przewidzieć konsekwencje ich decyzji. Często niosą one za sobą nie tylko zmiany indywidualne, ale i globalne. Wiele z zaprezentowanych w tym pokazie animacji rozgrywa się w dystopijnych i fikcyjnych światach.

SIXTH SENSE - INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION
Since 2017, Animator Festival carriers the Oscar® qualifying status from the American Film Academy. This means that a short film that wins the Festival’s Grand Prix, the Golden Pegasus, is on fast track to being considered for an Oscar® nomination in the Best Animated Short Film category and can compete for the prestigious award.
The characters could use a sixth sense to predict the consequences of their decisions. These can often affect not only what is personal, but work on a global scale too. Many of the animations are set in dystopian and fictional worlds.
